Augustin Kairouz, independent master barber in Paris
Barber trained at salon Desfossé, avenue Matignon, I have been developing for over ten years a men's grooming approach grounded in French tradition, artisanal precision and discretion. At the left bank studio, at your home, or in your hotel suite.
My background
The barber trade is not learned in school. It is transmitted, gesture by gesture, in houses that perpetuate its standards. Here are the steps that have made me the barber I am today.
-
1
The early years
My beginnings in the trade, learning the fundamentals: technical scissor cut, blade shaving, reading the face and scalp. This first step taught me the rigor of the gesture, the patience of manual work, and respect for the client.

Salon Desfossé, avenue Matignon
Several years spent at salon Desfossé, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, a few steps from the Triangle d'Or. A school of absolute requirement: international clientele, executives, Parisian luxury codes. There I refined my eye, my execution speed, and my understanding of high-end clientele expectations.

The path to independence
After this decade in prestigious houses, I chose to put down my tools under my own name. Not to open a traditional salon, but to offer a different approach: private, mobile, no compromise on quality but without the constraints of a rigid framework. July 31, 2025 officially marks the beginning of my independent activity as a sole proprietor.

Today
Three intervention places: my confidential studio in the 7th arrondissement (10 rue de Bourgogne, Wednesday and Saturday by appointment), your home throughout Paris and Île-de-France, or your suite in Paris luxury hotels via concierge partnerships.
My approach
Four values I work in practice, not just in speeches: rigor, discretion, bespoke, mobility.
-
Rigor
Every detail counts. The precision of a fade, the angle of a beard line, the hold of a haircut when you leave the room. I never accept "almost good" work. If a cut doesn't satisfy me, I redo it. You should never have to tell me that a detail bothers you, I must have seen it before you.
-
Discretion
Your comfort, your privacy, your professional constraints come first. No crossing, no public exposure, no mention of your affairs outside our exchange. For executives and public figures, I commit to formal confidentiality protocols. What you confide to me never leaves our appointment.
-
Bespoke
A hairstyle is worn like a suit: it must adapt to your face, your scalp, your maintenance rhythm, your professional environment. No "standard" cut applied to everyone. Each appointment begins with an exchange, an assessment, a proposal. You have the final word, I bear responsibility for the result.
-
Mobility
I come to you. Home, hotel, office for Executive Grooming Days. Not to do quantity, but because my clients' time is worth more than mine: asking less of them means letting them take care of themselves without making it a project. Studio quality delivered at your home, with no compromise.

For those who prefer to come to the studio: 10 rue de Bourgogne, Assemblée Nationale metro. By appointment only, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The traditional shave, my signature
If I had to keep only one gesture, it would be this one. The straight razor shave is not a utility service, it is an experience lived with all five senses: the heat of the towel opening the pores, the scent of the brush-whipped lather, the contact of the brush preparing the skin, the precise glide of the blade, the freshness of the final care.
It is a 45-minute ritual that requires ten years of practice from the barber to be executed with confidence and without a single nick. It is also, paradoxically, the shave that irritates sensitive skin the least: the single blade, glided with the hair grain by a mastered hand, doesn't pull, doesn't lift, doesn't leave ingrown hairs.
I offer it at the studio for €45, integrated into mobile home rituals, or in hotel on request. It's often what distinguishes an occasional client from a regular: the first time, they come for a cut; the second, they return for the ritual. Learn more about the traditional shave →
My clientele
I don't target a "target". I work with people who share common traits: high standards, value of time, attention to detail. Here are the profiles I serve regularly.
-
Executives and liberal professions
CEOs, professionals in law, finance, consulting, medicine. Tight schedules, precise cut requirements, strong attention to discretion. I adapt to their slots, sometimes to their urgencies, always to their expectation level.
-
Public figures
Actors, artists, athletes, whose presence in a public salon is not possible. Private service at home or in hotel, formal confidentiality commitment, flexible slots according to their professional calendar.
-
International clientele and hotels
Business travelers, temporary residents of Parisian palaces, clientele from the Maghreb and the Gulf staying in Paris. Conversations in French, English or conversational Arabic. Confidential in-room service via the concierge desks of major hotels.
-
Families and private events
Father and son in Duo session, wedding preparations at home or in hotel, high-end bachelor parties, Executive Grooming Days in companies. Custom quote based on number of services.
Languages spoken
My consultations are conducted indifferently in French (native) or English (fluent). I also speak conversational Arabic, which naturally facilitates exchanges with my Paris hotel clientele from the Maghreb or the Gulf, as well as with Arabic-speaking residents of the 7th, 8th and 16th arrondissements.
For written booking (WhatsApp, email), French and English remain preferred to avoid any confusion about schedules or addresses.
